Have Heart

The HAVE A HEART Benefit for Dennis Ferrante went off full throttle in Rock'n'Roll style as a stage full of celebrities entertained Wednesday night, August 4th. A few Brunchers were on hand ... Shannon, Laine, and Holley performed Time To Hide and Go Now. Lou Christie and many other guests blew the roof off the Highline Ballroom in NYC.

Grammy award winner, Dennis Ferrante, has worked with a wide range of musical talents from John Lennon and Yoko Ono to Alice Cooper and Kiss.

He was guest of honor in a "heart-felt" event to raise funds to help Dennis get a heart transplant. He has suffered multiple heart attacks some in his sleep and others while hospitalized. He is operating at 20% and is now classified as a 1-B heart transplant candidate.

Ferrante has not been working and insurance only partially covers his medical and living expenses. You can make a donation by contacting May Pang at mpang@aol.com.

Dennis is most noted for the work he did on one of John Lennon's most beautiful songs, #9 Dream from Walls and Bridges. He said, "Here's John's way of doing music : He would come into the studio with his song, run the tune down for the band and after about 45 minutes the band would be ready to lay it down. Then they recorded any guitar overdubs or other instruments and be ready to put down John's vocal. He didn't like to hear his voice plain so I had to put SFX in his headphones that seemed the more he heard, the better he sang. After that we put on the background vocals and whatever little nuisances were needed like May Pang saying, "John," in the chorus. After all the parts were put down, we would mix and the rest is what you hear."
