Beatles Win Grammy Award 2/13/2017 / LA Times
Ron Howard, Academy Award winning director and former child actor, earned the Grammy for Best Music Film for "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years," his highly acclaimed Beatles rockumentary from last year, which details the band on the road, from the early days to when it ended in 1966. Also earning trophies for the film are producers Brian Grazer, Scott Pascucci and Nigel Sinclair.

“I jumped into it as a kind of irresistible life experience and creative opportunity," Howard told the LA Times´ Randy Lewis after the film got nominated. "But as soon as [the news] hit the Internet, I started realizing how seismic anything having to do with the Beatles can be. I thought, ‘It’s always a high-wire act, but this one is really up there.’ So I took it very seriously, of course, as I always do."

Paul was indirectly nominated for a Grammy for a remix of his 1973 Wing´s song "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five", and directly for the historical remastering and release of his "Tug of War" Deluxe box set, but failed to win for either of those categories. Paul and his mates are no slouch in the Grammy department, though. As a band, The Beatles won 11 Grammys, and in their solo years are responsible for 23 more, including this past Sunday night´s trophy.
