|Speaking to DIY magazine, McCartney confirmed that an expanded reissue of The Beatles´ 1968 self-titled double album, a.k.a. "The White Album," is almost ready for release.
"It´s all in place, I´ve just got a couple of essays [to approve]," Sir Paul tells the magazine. "It´s all lined up and it´s really good."
McCartney says he´s very pleased with the intimate sonic quality of the remastered album. "The album itself is very cool and it sounds like you´re in the room," he notes. "That´s the great thing about doing remasters."
In addition, Paul says the expanded collection will include "some demos of the songs, so you get things stripped right back to just Johns voice and a guitar. You just think, how f-ing good was John?! Amazing."
McCartney also revealed details about the only track on Egypt Station that wasn´t produced by Greg Kurstin. It´s a song called "Fuh You," which was produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder.
Macca says that as he initially chatted with Tedder, Ryan asked him, "What do you hope to get [out of this]?" After pondering the question, Paul answered, "´A hit?´ And he was like, ´Yeah! Now you´re talking my language! The world loves a hit!´"
He and Tedder proceeded to focus on creating some commercial-sounding tunes and ended up with three songs after a week, one of which was "Fuh You."
Egypt Station will be released September 7.
