Ringo Working on NEW CD 3/19/2019
Steve Marinucci / Billboard
Ringo´s been "been working on a new record for a few months,” his representative said in an email. There´s no word on when it will be released.

The first clue to the new album came March 14 when Ringo Starr´s recording engineer Bruce Sugar posted a picture of himself, Ringo and All-Starr Band guitarist Steve Lukather on Facebook with the caption, “Another great day in the Studio...”

Ringo tweeted the same day: "In the studio again with the great Steve Lukather, what a guy. Peace and Love."

Ringo´s last recent album, "Give More Love", peaked at No. 128 on the Billboard 200 in October 2017 and for some reason, Ringo mysteriously stopped playing songs from it on his last All Starr Band tour, reportedly cutting the title song off in mid sing and moving to a tested hit.

Recently, he made news when it was announced he played drums on Jenny Lewis´ “Heads Gonna Roll" for her new album On the Line, to be released this week. He was also among those paying tribute to legendary drummer Hal Blaine after his recent passing.

Ringo and his All-Starr Band will be touring this year, starting March 21 in Funner, Calif., followed by nine shows in April in Japan. He´ll be back performing in Canada and the U.S. starting Aug. 1. Among the shows will be one on Aug. 16 at the Bethel Woods Center of the Arts during the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival, which was held on the site where this year´s concert takes place. Also on the bill for that show will be the Edgar Winter Band and Arlo Guthrie. Winter is a former All-Starr Band member, and both Winter and Guthrie performed at the original Woodstock Festival, as did the All-Starr Band´s Gregg Rolie.
